In the late falls, during the 60’s, countryside’s families of this region used to slaughter swine and traditionally season the legs by themselves.
Then, every year, Simonini Delio and Marvani Franca, didn’t miss this occurrence that quite soon became a good chance to round up their family.
Autumn by autumn, these enjoyable moments shared with the closest beloved, evolved into a real activity and in the 1968 they founded the “Salumificio Simonini & Marvani snc” in Cascinapiano nearby Langhirano.
Their two sons, Fabio and Romano, grew up in this plant, opening the big windows of the factory to let the “Marino” wind enter; now they are still working with the same enthusiasm, the same bliss and the same passion of 50 years ago, when salt the ham was just for fun.
The most advanced and innovative technologies are supporting them in contemporary productive processes but Fabio and Romano still personally work and treat the hams with the same care that their parents passed on them. These home-made and artisan manufacturing make them able to distinguish and recognize ham by ham, guaranteeing an accurate top-selection of their products.
Is in that way that the “Salumificio Simonini & Marvani snc” reached a yearly productive capability of 70000 hams: not such a massive production in comparison with other industrial competitors but on strong expertise-based one that built up its worth on tradition, tight connections with this territory and team efforts bequeathed generation by generation.
Actually, nowadays Franca and Delio grandson and granddaughters are parts of both, the managements and productive activities, preserving and transmitting family values of ever: quality, simplicity, swine legs, a bit of salt and the ritual of sweetness.
